  • Is the potential contractor a Local Contractor?

    Your potential contractor should be from the area. This way, if a warranty claim needs to be addressed, they will come to the home and complete the warranty item. You can find this information by searching the Florida DBPR Contractor Search Website

  • Does the potential contractor qualify the company?

    The State of Florida all roofing and construction companies requires a" Qualifying Agent." This person is the license holder and has completed all the requirements to obtain the State of Florida license. Many company qualifiers have little or nothing to do with the day-to-day operations.


    Rising Tide Builder's CEO is Rob Daily, a State of Florida Certified Building Contractor and State of Florida Certified Roofing Contractor in the State of Florida. His licenses are only used for Rising Tide Roofing & Construction, and he is involved in the company's

    day-to-day operations.


  • Does the potential contractor have adequate insurance coverage?

    Your potential contractor should carry insurance to help protect your home from accidental damage.


    Rising Tide Builders carries more than the state minimum for all required insurance policies

  • Will you provide me with a written estimate?

    Your contractor should provide an estimate that accurately describes the scope of work to be performed, and just as important as excluded scope of work.


    Rising Tide prides ourselves in providing our clients with an entirely detailed estimate that includes precisely what is included and what is not in the work scope. 


    We want to build long-term relationships with our clients. The more we ensure our clients know about their

    projects, the fewer chances there are of surprises.


  • Does the potential contractor comply with the current Local Building Codes?

    Your potential contractor should be familiar with and follow all manufacturer's specifications since improper application will affect your manufacturer's warranty.


    Rising Tide Builders is a Preferred Contractor for many manufacturers and is held to a high standard! 


    We will always install the entire system and will always follow manufacturer specifications to ensure our clients' warranties are not denied for improperly installed materials. We encourage our clients to ask about all materials and specifications being used on their projects.


  • Will you install a high-quality synthetic underlayment?

    Florida 2021 Roofing Codes require two layers of synthetic or felt underlayment as the first layer of protection on your roof deck. If you're looking for advanced protection against leaks, water absorption, and mold, you'll want to ensure your potential roofing contractor uses a synthetic product rather than felt.


    Rising Tide Builders installs two layers of Owens Corning Rhino Synthetic underlayment. This material is the best for a secondary water barrier and doesn't trap moisture. It is also lighter and safer for our installers to install. 


  • Will you install ice and water barriers?

    Depending on several conditions, additional ice and water barriers between the shingles and the wood deck may be needed to help prevent ice damming, wind-driven rain, or collected water. Learn more about Owens Corning® ice and water barrier products.

    Rising Tide will always install Owens Corning Weather Loc ice and water barriers in all valleys and around roof penetrations. Any shingle-pitched roof system under 4/12 will have Ice and Water installed over the entire roof decking. 

  • Does the potential contractor follow the manufacturer's specifications?

    Your potential contractor should be familiar with and follow all manufacturer's specifications since improper application will affect your manufacturer's warranty.

We will always install the entire system to ensure our clients' warranties are not denied for improperly installed materials. We encourage our clients to ask about all materials being used on their projects. 


  • How do you handle unforeseen additional costs?

    A  good Contractor will photograph and discuss in detail and in writing any additional costs that could occur during the project.


    Although our Estimators will always complete a thorough inspection of the existing structure and try to provide our clients with detailed estimate. 


    If unforeseen additional costs are discovered during the project, our team photographs and contacts our clients to show them and discuss the additional scope of work.Then, we send a detailed change order electronically for their approval.


    We do not want our clients to be surprised and upset by the lack of communication about additional costs



  • How will the potential contractor communicate with me before and during the project?

    Every project should have a standard process for communicating with clients properly. Including phone calls, text messaging and email. Asking how often and means of communication will assist with ensuring the company has standard processes in place for proper communication with clients.


    Rising Tide believes in providing options to meet our clients' needs. We have multiple ways to communicate, including phone calls, texting, a custom client web page for their project.
